Betty Houseman, 75, of Forsyth, MO.

Betty Fern Houseman went to be with her Lord while surrounded by her family at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO on August 1st, 2019. Betty was born to Wilma and Clell Henslee June 27th, 1944 in Kingsburg, CA but famously always remained age 19. Betty grew up in and around Taney County with multiple siblings whom she held dear. Betty met her husband Jack in Rockaway Beach in 1958, a meeting which sparked over 60 years of marriage filled with love and devotion. To that marriage, a son and daughter, Jeannie Atkins and Jack Houseman, were born and Betty devoted her life to loving them with all that she had. Betty spent over 35 years working at Hagel’s factory where she resided in Forsyth, MO. Betty retired in the 90’s and supported her husband who owned Jack & Betty’s Auto, and in 2008 became an active and loved member of the Riverview Bible Baptist Church. Betty was also a grandmother, and great-grandmother - a role that she embraced with all the love and energy in the world. Betty will be dearly missed each and every day by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her dear father, Clell Henslee, baby brother Lee Wayne Henslee, son-in-law Ron Atkins, and beloved dog Ginger. Betty is survived by her loving and devoted husband Jack Houseman; daughter Jeannie Atkins, and son Jack Houseman & wife Mary Ann all of which loved her dearly for all the years of their lives. Betty is also survived by grandchildren whom she loved to spoil at every opportunity: Amber Dixon & spouse Christopher, Clinton Houseman & spouse Whitney, Austin Atkins & fiancé Larissa Grimm, Ashlee Parker & spouse Kyle and great grandchildren Colton Dixon, Baby Dixon due 8/23, and Ryland Grimm. Betty is also survived by her mother Wilma Cantrell; siblings Edna Bilyeu, Bill Welch, Rickey Cantrell, Debra Jarvis, Tresea “Terry” Nichols, Brenda Estepp; her beloved sister Carol & husband Dale Burton who lovingly stood steadfast throughout her life and bedside, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews whom she loved.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Riverview Bible Baptist Church School in Forsyth, MO would be a great honor to Betty’s love for children and God.
