Harold V. Thrasher

Harold V. Thrasher, age 93, of Springfield, Missouri, died December 9, 2018.

Harold was born September 1st, 1925, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to the late Ray and Lorine (Cron) Thrasher. He grew up and received his education in the Tulsa area and graduated from Daniel Webster in 1944.

Harold served in WW II in the U. S. Navy from 1944 through 1946. He married Barbara Lee (Ray) Merritt June 1st, 1947. He was employed by Phillips Petroleum in Tulsa, from 1947 until his transfer to Kansas City, Missouri in 1964; he transferred to Bartlesville, Oklahoma in 1970. Harold retired from the Treasury Department in 1985 with 38 years of service. He was a member of Forsyth Christian Church. He received his 32nd Degree in Masonry at Guthrie, Oklahoma, and was a Past Worthy Patron of the Order of Eastern Star in Claremore, Oklahoma. He was a 67-year member of the Will Rogers Masonic Lodge in Claremore, Oklahoma.

Harold is survived by his two sons, Ronald Ray and wife Connie of Stillwater, Oklahoma; Kendall Ray and wife Karla of Nixa, Missouri; a daughter, Denise Ray McHargue of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Daniel Thrasher and wife Candace of Stillwater, Matthew Thrasher of Tulsa, Madison Thrasher and Savannah Thrasher of Nixa,  Nicholas McHargue of Bartlesville and Garrett McHargue of Pittsburg, Kansas; two great-grandchildren, Zachary Thrasher and Ryan Thrasher of Stillwater; and one sister, Shirley Ferguson of Wichita, Kansas. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, his wife Barbara, and a brother, Leon Thrasher.

Visitation will be at 9:30 AM until service time at 10 AM, Friday, December 14, 2018 at Forsyth Christian Church in Forsyth, Missouri. Masonic graveside services will be held at 2 PM at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Claremore, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Forsyth Christian Church, 13464 Hwy 160,  Forsyth, MO 65653.
