Juanita Frances Maggard, 88, of Bradleyville, MO., passed away on May 11, 2019 at her home. She was born June 19, 1930 in Carthage, MO to Emery and Rosie (Combs) Parrill. Juanita remembered her childhood days living in two story farmhouses, milking cows and growing vegetables, and raising beef and pork for the winter times. Entertainment consisted of Grand Ole’ Opry on the radio and herding turkeys on stick horses with her brothers and sister.

Juanita was saved and baptized in Swan Creek Casey Hole in 1946. Graduating from Forsyth High School, she pursued a teaching career, receiving a certificate from SMS College in 1949. She accepted her first teaching position at Roswell Elementary School near Parma, Idaho.

In 1953, Juanita married the love of her life, Robert Maggard, and they were blessed with 5 children. A lifetime of wonderful memories began, from camping in the Idaho Mountains to swimming in the Ozarks creeks. Juanita and Robert were blessed with musical talent. Juanita played the accordion and piano; Robert played the guitar. They enjoyed singing at church and many get-togethers with family and friends.

Her teaching career finally ended in 1999 after teaching 50 years in the public and Christian schools. Juanita spent most of her retired years on their farm in Mansfield, MO., with her beloved husband, Robert. They were married 64 wonderful years. They enjoyed going to town and eating at McDonald’s. Their greatest earthly treasure was spending time with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Juanita was faithful to pray for her family and others in need and testify daily for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Survivors include her children; son, Brent Maggard and wife Cathy of Mansfield, MO.; son Dave Maggard and wife Sondra of Oldfield, MO.; a daughter Darla Day and husband Kent of Bradleyville, MO.; daughter Anita Busick and husband Rick of Marshfield, MO.; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; two sisters; Mary Lou Ingenthron and husband Danny and Nadine Horner, both of Forsyth, MO.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
