Obituary

Larry Startin, of Powersite, Missouri, entered heaven on Wednesday September 30, 2020 as the result of an automobile accident in Kirbyville.  He lived with his wife, Shannon, in Powersite, Missouri.

Larry was born on February 2, 1969 in Klamath Falls, Oregon, to Jim and Wanda Brown Startin.  He grew up in the Lake of the Ozarks area and graduated from Camdenton High School.  He furthered his education by earning a degree in Plastics Engineering from Pittsburgh State University in Pittsburg, Kansas.  He has been employed as a sales representative with various chemical companies, the most recent being PCC: Chemax, based out of South Carolina.

Shannon and Larry met at a western dance in Pittsburg, Kansas.  They were graceful, skilled dancers.  They married on October 6, 2001, in Pittsburg and remained an extremely devoted couple.

Larry appreciated all sports, especially a good round of golf.  He made a habit of tending to his plants and keeping the property around his home in pristine condition.  He was a member of the Branson Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association and the Powersite Community Center.

Church membership was at Woodland Hills Church, in Branson, Missouri.  Larry was extremely charismatic, articulate, friendly, and could sell ice to Inuit’s in Alaska.  His proudest moments were spent with his wife Shannon, and his son Tyler, who is currently serving in the United States Navy.

Larry is survived by his wife Shannon; his son Tyler; his parents Pat and Wanda Brown Barnett, and Colonel Jim and Karin Startin; aunts Loretta Autry and Linda Petrie; uncle John E. Brown; matchless cousin Ray; in-laws Bob and Shirley Gideon; great nieces and nephews Kayla, Eric, Madison, Colin, and Carter.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents; his Aunt Sharon; and cousins Anne Lawlor, Mindy Smythe, and Carol Brown.

Inurnment will be at Edwards Cemetery at a later date.
