Timothy Allen Schwab, of Strafford, Missouri passed away on February 20, 2022, at the age of 66 at Cox South Hospital surrounded by his family. Remaining healthy and active was important to Tim especially as he moved into retirement. He sought relief of his pain with a knee replacement surgery so he could continue to put many miles of golf in each week. Unfortunately, he died of surgical complications in the months following the procedure. Despite the odds, Tim remained fearless, strong, and incredibly optimistic until the very end.
Tim was born on May 25, 1955, to Richard Ernest Schwab and Mary Alice (Dunivan) Schwab in Kansas City, Missouri. After Tim graduated from Shawnee Mission East in 1973, he went on to study Journalism at The University of Kansas where he received his bachelor’s degree. He then spent 31 years as a Territory Sales Manager in some the world’s largest equipment manufacturing businesses.
In 1989, Tim and Debbie (Stehle) Schwab were united in marriage and with this union created a unique and blended family. Tim’s sole focus was his family and he always made it a point to make those around him feel special and loved. Anyone who truly knew him, knew he had a heart of gold. Tim loved deeply and fiercely. He was proud to be called a Christian and tried to live the most selfless life as he possibly could. We can all take comfort in knowing that he is now at peace surrounded by light.
Tim was passionate about living in The Ozarks and took every opportunity he could to enjoy the simplicity and beauty of everyday life. In his free time, Tim loved playing golf with his buddies, driving his boat around Bull Shoals Lake, grilling for his friends and family, going on hiking trips, and kayaking down the beautiful Missouri rivers. He never took life too seriously and could make anyone laugh with his silly nature. Tim touched the lives of everyone he met and had a natural ability to make those around him feel welcome.
Tim is survived by his dear friend, Debbie Schwab of Rogersville and his children: Amanda Schwab of Springfield, Myriah and Cody Wallace of West Plains and their two children, Cameron Schwab of Rogersville, James and Valerie Henning of Forsyth and their three children, and Ray and Amber Henning of Theodosia and their two children. Tim is also survived by his brothers Mike Schwab and Becky Rose of St. Paul, Minnesota. Pat and Kathy Schwab of Potomac, Maryland, and Steve and Barbara Schwab of Scottsdale, Arizona. Tim has three nieces and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Mary Schwab.
Memorial donations to the cemetery are greatly appreciated.
