Clessie Irene Hurst, 88, of Bradleyville, MO.
Clessie Irene (Pierce) Hurst of Bradleyville, Mo., passed away on April 30, 2018, in her home with family at her side. She was born March 25, 1930, daughter of Clell and Mable (Adamson) Pierce in Bradleyville, Missouri. Clessie was a lifelong resident of Bradleyville, Mo. She married the love of her life Bill Hurst on Jan. 31, 1947. She received the Lord and was baptized while attending Hercules church. She taught Sunday School in her earlier years and enjoyed her church family.
Clessie loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Clessie was one of the best cooks around and prepared many meals for her family and friends over the years. One of her favorite pastimes was hunting mushrooms in the Spring. She worked as a housekeeper at Branson Inn Motel for 21 years. During those years she met and befriended several celebrities who performed in Branson. When her husband became ill she was a devoted caregiver and cared for him in the home for seven years.
Survivors include her children, Billy J Hurst and wife Judy of Ash Grove, Mo., Jan and husband Kent Scantlin of Bradleyville, Mo.; grandchildren, Jennifer and husband Jon Collier of Ash Grove, Mo., Rusty and wife Melody Stover of Broken Arrow, Ok., Keshia Mann of Ava, Mo., Kelsey Hurst and Joe Caddick of Ash Grove, Mo., and Ashley Mann of Bradleyville, Mo.; great-grandchildren, Baylee Jo Hurst of Bradleyville, Mo., Jordan Collier and Jackson Collier of Ash Grove, Mo., Megan Levan and Kylee Levan of Ava, Mo. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Clessie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willard “Bill” Hurst; sister, Delphia Jenkins; and grandson, Darin Hurst.
