Charley Scott, 98, of Hollister, passed February 3, 2022. He was born January 21, 1924, the son of Sam and Ida (Gross) Scott. Charley worked for School of The Ozarks for 30 years before retiring in 1983. He was of the Pentecostal faith, attending several local churches during his lifetime. Charley also raised cows and pigs, mixing that with his love for gardening. Charley spent his life in Taney County.
Charley is preceded in death by his parents; wife Laura Gertrude Scott; brothers Cleo, Cleaborn, Red, and Junior Scott; sisters Ana Scott, Lorene Hoover, and Darlene Scott; children Leo, Loretta, Leon, Lonnie Scott, and Leota Eubanks; grandchild Kerry Joe Thomas; great-grandchildren Brody Scott, Harley Miller, and great-great-grandson Cooper Morgan Mayberry; and second wife Virginia White Scott.
Charley is survived by his daughters Leona and husband Dallas Bruffet of Galena, Missouri, Leola Carroll of Hollister, Missouri, and Letta and husband Edward Carroll of Hollister, Missouri; 16 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
