Kermit Nelson Henry, Jr.—known to all as “Bud,” was born April 28, 1941, in Riverside, California to mother Daisy Fernandes and father Kermit Nelson Henry, Sr.
Bud had a love of boats from an early age after he found a sunken boat in the river and salvaged it. His love for boats and everything ‘water’ continued as Bud served in the United States Navy as a Captain’s Skiff Operator.
Bud married Dolores Metcalf in the summer of 1994, with that union lasting 27 years. Bud always said that after his boat …. he loved Dee the most!
Bud suffered a stroke in Branson, Missouri on Wednesday, November 17th, and then passed away at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri at 8:28 AM, Thursday, November 18, 2021, at the age of 80.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother Richard Henry; and daughters Crystal and Cathy, of California.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores Henry of Rockaway Beach, Missouri; his sister Ruthie Wassel and his daughter Cindy, who both reside in California; also stepdaughters Tammy Sutton (in California) and Lorri Wall (husband Dave, of Forsyth, Missouri); stepson Mike Chilcoat and wife Mary (in Topeka, Kansas); and a former son-in-law, Mark Cunningham (in Colorado); along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bud was a very good man, who loved to fish and hunt, and was loved by his family and friends and liked by everyone he met.
