Thomas "Tom" LeRoy Mikrut

Obituary

Thomas was born November 8, 1941 to “Mickey” and Clara Mikrut in Chicago, Illinois.

Thomas worked as a photographer for a news organization in his early years.  His interest in photography remained as he created many great pictures in his bathroom darkroom.  Later he developed an interest in firearms.  He was in the business of buying and selling, but also could fix guns.

Later in his life he worked several band gigs as a drummer.  He thoroughly enjoyed keeping the beat, especially as a member of Silverado, the Joe Neff Band and Thryllbilly.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, sister Sandra Vanderbilt, and brother Anthony Mikrut.  Survivors include children Jesse Mikrut and Laura Mikrut, both of Springfield, Missouri; granddaughter Reece Plyer-Mikrut of Blue Eye, Missouri.

He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends, all of whom enjoyed his company.
